Belgian artist Renato Nicolodi creates austerely imposing architectural environments in concrete - often as scale models or 3D visualisations, but increasingly as full-sized buildings or environments.
Informed by precedents from both the classical and modernist canons, Nicolodi's enigmatic constructions lack obvious function and appear to exist as grandiose follies - arenas of ambiguity and psychological metaphor.
